Install Campus Software

Overview

The "Request Software Install" button on this page is to request to have software installed on devices issued by Alfred State, such as faculty laptops and lab computers. For an installation request to be approved, the software itself needs to be approved prior. To see about that, please check out the New Software Request service.

What happens next?

Upon submitting a service request using the button on this page, the following will happen before the request is approved and fulfilled:

  • Technology Services will double check to make sure the software has been approved
  • Our license for the requested software will be reviewed to make sure the client or PC lab is eligible for the software and that there are enough license seats available to support the new installations
    • In the rare case of eligibility issues or there isn't enough seats for the new installations, the ticket maybe put on hold while eligibility is expanded or more license seats are obtained
  • If there are any changes in the Terms and Conditions of the software as well as any other facet which may effect our operations such as but not limited to VPAT modifications, said changes may have to be reviewed through the New Software Request process. In that situation the ticket maybe updated or changed to that form and category, to be processed as a New Software Request so it gets the proper review process.
