Installing the Alfred State VPN (Cloudflare One) - MacOS Tahoe

Overview

The Alfred State VPN allows you to securely access certain campus resources while off campus, such as printers, network drives, licensing servers, and remote desktop connections.

This guide details the installation process for MacOS devices as well as basic troubleshooting.

Installation
  1. Navigate to the installation page at https://developers.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-one/team-and-resources/devices/cloudflare-one-client/download/

  2. Scroll until you see macOS and download the latest stable version by clicking "Download latest stable release" directly under macOSUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  3. Click allow if you get a popup asking to allow downloads from the Cloudflare websiteUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  4. A download bar appears in the top right, once it finishes, click teh "Show downloads" button in the top right of your browserUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  5. In the downloads window, double-click on the Cloudflare installerUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  6. The installer should now open, click on "ContinueUploaded Image (Thumbnail)

  8. Enter the credentials you use to log into your Mac device (the username should be filled in be default and you just enter your password)Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  9. Once the installer finishes, click "Close"Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  10. To open Cloudflare, click on your "Apps" icon in the bottom leftUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  11. Locate and click on "Cloudflare WARP" (search cloud if you are not seeing it)Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  12. Click "Continue" on the rightUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  13. When asked for a team name, enter alfredstate (exactly as shown, no capitals no spaces) Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  14. You may be asked to log in as it redirects you to your browser, log in with your Alfred State e-mail if so (if not go straight to step 15)Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  15. When prompted, click "Allow" on the popupUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  16. Now all you need to do is click connect (if your app is minimized, refer to steps 10 + 11 to reopen Cloudflare)Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  17. If it looks like the screen below you are connected to the VPN and can access campus resources Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

Troubleshooting
  • Double check you entered the correct team name, to check click on "profile" and if something besides alfredstate is listed, click logout and return to step 6
  • However, if no team is listed, and you see something similar to the screenshot below, scroll down on the profile tab and click "Login" under "Cloudflare One team login" and return to step 6Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  • If you are unable to access a specific resource remotely while using the VPN, especially if you could with previous VPNs please contact the Help Desk at our information below so we can submit a ticket to add the functionality to the VPN (or submit a ticket at the link below with as much detail as you can provide)
