Install the Alfred State Built-In VPN (Windows 11 & MacOS Tahoe)

Body

Overview

This guide will show you how to set up and use the Alfred State VPN that utilizes the built-in VPN feature of your MacOS or Windows device. The primary difference between this VPN and the FortiClient VPN is you do not need to install an app to use it. There is no reason to use one over the other besides preference, OR if you have issues with one, trying the other may be a valid work around until you can contact the Help Desk to troubleshoot your preferred VPN.

Troubleshooting

Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)MacOS - "Your name or password was incorrect" - This message indicates your username or password is incorrect, if this is your first attempt double check and retype your login credentials, if it began after a password change, then you need to update your password in the VPN settings. (Return to system settings, go to VPN, click the "i" next to the ASC VPN, and re-enter your new password)

If you want a quick workaround to issues with the built-in VPN setup, you can use the standalone FortiClient VPN by following this guide https://alfredstate.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/277/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=10706

If you are having a different error message, take a screenshot of the error and provide it to the Help Desk at the information below for more direct assistance
